As a Korean Group, SHINee Records the Highest Sales of Debut Single in Japan!

To be Ranked 2nd on the Oricon Chart!

SHINee recorded the highest sales of their debut single as a Korean group in Japan.  

SHINee released their debut single ‘Replay - 君は僕のEverything (너는 나의 모든 것)’ on June 22nd. In the first week of its release, they sold more than 91,000 copies and ranked 2nd on the Oricon weekly single chart following the Oricon daily single chart.  

Since ranking 2nd place on the Oricon has tied with the record of Korean group’s debut single, it proved SHINee’s popularity again who has been receiving an enthusiastic response in Japan.

In addition, the first shipment of their single exceeded 120,000 prior to its release so it predicted their great success. The Oricon also reported on SHINee’s achievement under the title of “SHINee, The First-Ever to Sell over 91,000 Copies as a Korean Group.”

Meanwhile, SHINee is scheduled to get closer to their fans in Japan by holding “SHINee Japan Debut Premium Reception Tour” in 5 different cities in Japan such as Fukuoka (7/22), Kobe (7/23),Tokyo (7/27 and 7/28), Sapporo (8/8), and Nagoya (8/11).

SHINee ranked 2nd on the Oricon single chart with their Japanese debut single.  

SHINee’s Japanese debut single ‘Replay – 君は僕の everything (너는 나의 모든 것)’ ranked 2nd on the Oricon single chart on the day of its release(June 22) and it’s increasing expectation for their activity in Japan.

Especially, even though SHINee’s first single ‘Replay – 君は僕の everything (너는 나의 모든 것),’ is a debut ‘single,’ over 120,000 copies were produced for distribution in Japan. This is expected to only increase sales.

Also, the Oricon news published a special article on K-pop and introduced SHINee’s debut single by writing that “SHINee has been continuously expanding the fan base since their debut in 2008 and became a giant group with an absolute popularity in many Asian countries as a face of K-POP.” This article made people realize the high interest in SHINee.

In addition, SHINee had ‘JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION in LONDON’ at Abbey Road Studios on 19th and aroused their audience to enthusiasm. SHINee will have ‘SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION TOUR’ by touring cities in Japan such as Fukuoka (July 22), Kobe (July 23), Tokyo (July 27,28), Sapporo (August 8) and Nagoya (August 11).

Meanwhile, SHINee is planning to give great performance by attending "MTV Music Video Awards Japan(VMAJ)" which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan on June 25th.

SHINee debuted at #2 on Oricon’s daily singles chart with their first Japanese single “Replay” on June 22nd. They also set a new record in first day shipments for a K-Pop artist, as it exceeded 120,000 copies on the first day. That is the highest figure for any K-Pop artist since Super Junior’s debut album that hit just over 100K and SNSD’s that recorded 80,000 copies for first day shipments.

“SHINee has continued to increase their fan base since debuting in 2008. They have grown into a giant group that represents K-Pop, enjoying explosive popularity all over Asia. With the release of their Japanese debut single on June 22nd, SHINee is set to take another step forward as a singer,” Oricon said in a special K-Pop article.

Meanwhile, SHINee held a live concert at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London to celebrate the release of their Japanese debut album. On June 25th, they will appear at the “MTV Music Video Awards Japan (VMAJ)” and give a live performance as well. Also, their Japanese Tour concert titled “SHINee JAPAN DEBUT PREMIUM RECEPTION TOUR,” covering Fukuoka, Kobe, Sapporo, Nagoya, and Tokyo, is expected to begin in late July, as SHINee continues to make strides in the Japanese market.
